My Favorite Quotes

Through the years I have drawn inspiration from all sorts of different sources, from the Bible to Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. I have started a new page on this blog to keep track of some of these quotes and share them with all of you.

Feel free to check out the page: Favorite Quotes, and also to share with me any words that have inspired you.

Peace friends,

I saw this on a message board outside a church on Fort Hunt Road. I once suggested it to you as a topic for a homily.

Found this beautiful quote I wanted to share…Washington Irving said, “There is a sacredness in tears. They are not a mark of weakness, but of power. They are messengers of overpowering grief and of unspeakable love.” Peace Chuck.

I keep this quote on a “Stickie” on my computer.

“The adventure of life is to learn. The purpose of life is to grow. The nature of life is to change. The challenge of life is to overcome. The essence of life is to care. The opportunity of life is to serve. The secret of life is to dare. The spice of life is to befriend. The beauty of life is to give. The joy of life is to love.”  ~ William Arthur Ward

One of my favorite bible verses is from Colossians. The following is said within the context of the person and work of Christ Jesus:

He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
    Colossians 1:17

I like it because it speaks to the universal inclusivity of Jesus Christ.
