For Some Reason, This Isn’t Always Easy to Do

When you watch today’s video, I think you’ll enjoy the silliness of it; while also appreciating the weightiness of the issue at hand. While it may sound simple in theory, sometimes it’s hard to actually find the words and the courage to invite a friend to accompany us to church.

We try not to come on too strong in case we might turn them off. But ya know what, I’ve found that this really isn’t so complicated. It doesn’t have to be difficult or scary – to actually invite someone to come to church with us. In fact, I do it all the time. I did it at previous parishes where I worked, and I do it now at Emmanuel. I love my church. And I want everyone else to know that it can be their church too. Please take this as my invitation to join us at Emmanuel Episcopal Church anytime you’d like to come for a visit.  If you happen to like what you see, hear and experience, please stay forever!

Peace friends,

P.S. Those of you who know my dog, Brock, know that I’m a dog lover and enjoy hearing stories about dogs in the news.  I loved learning about one of the newest members of the DC police department. Welcome to Sam, the District of Columbia’s Metropolitan Police Department’s first – and one and only – bloodhound!  Sam has been training for the job since he was eight weeks old, and he arrived at the DC police department a few weeks ago. He already has helped lead police to two missing people. May you have a long and successful career, Sam!   Police Introduce New Bloodhound
