Human Trafficking Awareness Day

I just learned that today, January 11, has been established as Human Trafficking Awareness Day, and this coming weekend is a Weekend of Prayer to end human slavery and trafficking. As noted in an article from the Episcopal News Service (ENS):

Did you know more people are enslaved today than have been enslaved throughout history?  That law enforcement experts believe human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world?  If you didn’t, you’re not alone.  That’s why January 11, 2013 marks Human Trafficking Awareness Day in the United States.
